Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Cheflet mobile application and its related recipe-import services (together, the “Service”). Cheflet does not require you to create an account.
Information we process
- Recipe import content: links, text, and photos that you choose to submit so Cheflet can extract recipe details.
- Recipe results: generated titles, ingredients, instructions, nutrition estimates, source links, and related job status information.
- Purchase information: subscription status and purchase history needed to provide premium access and credits. Cheflet does not receive or store payment-card details.
- Usage and technical information: app interactions, sessions, app and device information, an app-generated anonymous identifier, diagnostics, and crash logs.
How we use information
We use this information to import and organize recipes, provide nutrition estimates and other requested features, manage credits and subscriptions, maintain security, diagnose problems, measure feature usage, and improve the Service.
On-device storage
Your recipe library, grocery list, and app preferences are primarily stored locally on your device. Removing the app or clearing its storage may delete this local information. Cheflet currently does not provide cloud account sync.
Service providers
We use service providers that process information on our behalf:
- OpenAI processes submitted recipe text, media-derived content, and photos to produce structured recipe information.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status, purchase history, and credits.
- Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics provide usage analytics, diagnostics, and crash reporting.
- Amplitude provides product analytics.
- Google Play Billing processes Android subscription purchases.
We do not sell personal information or use submitted recipe content for advertising.
External recipe sources
When you submit a public recipe or social-media link, the Service may retrieve publicly available content from that source to fulfil your request. Those websites and platforms operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
Retention and deletion
Import jobs and generated recipe results may be retained on our systems as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Analytics, crash, and purchase records are retained according to the policies of the relevant service providers and applicable law.
You may request deletion of identifiable server-side import data by emailing andrew.vychev@gmail.com. Include enough information to locate the data, such as the source link or import details. Because Cheflet does not use accounts and relies on anonymous identifiers, we may be unable to associate some records with you.
Security and international processing
Information transmitted by the app is encrypted in transit. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.
Children
Cheflet is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information through the Service, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where possible.
Your choices and rights
You choose whether to submit recipe links, text, or photos. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information associated with you. Contact us to make a request.
Changes
We may update this policy as the Service changes. The updated version becomes effective when posted here with a revised date.
